1892 – Founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

1914 – Official Supplier to the U.S. Military

Hamilton is chosen to supply watches to the U.S. Armed Forces, beginning a long-standing legacy of military precision and durability.

1918 – Timing the Skies

Hamilton becomes the official timekeeper for the first U.S. airmail flights, marking the start of its aviation heritage.

1942 – Supporting the WWII Effort

Hamilton stops consumer production to dedicate all manufacturing to the U.S. military, delivering over 1 million watches, including marine chronometers and field watches used by Allied troops.

1957 – The First Electric Watch

Hamilton releases the Ventura — the world’s first battery-powered watch. Its space-age design and groundbreaking tech made it an instant icon, worn by Elvis Presley.

1970 – Pulsar: The First Digital Watch

Hamilton introduces the world’s first digital watch under the Pulsar brand — ushering in a new era of timekeeping innovation.

1997 – Men in Black Legacy Begins

Hamilton becomes the official watch of the Men in Black franchise, starting a new era of sci-fi and pop culture relevance.

2014 – Interstellar and Emotional Timekeeping

The custom-built “Murph” watch plays a central role in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, later released to fans due to overwhelming demand.
